Palazzo Didonna

Palazzo Didonna is a historic residence dating back to the early Twentieth Century.
Born as “Frantoio Dellerba”, the abode was purchased in the 1930s by the Didonna family, who lived in its rooms for years.

The building, furnished in Art Nouveau style in harmony with the ancient floors, preserves period furniture and antique objects inside, including Mrs Isabella’s piano and the Singer sewing machine, which even now tell the story and traditions of the daily life of one of the historic families of the Rutigliano.

Rutigliano is a small chest with a treasure worth discovering. The historic centre is a maze of narrow streets lined with buildings of great historical and architectural interest, such as the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria della Colonna and San Nicola, with its rare Apulian Romanesque bell tower, and Palazzo Settanni with the Educational Museum of History and Sacred Art. In the ancient town you can admire the beautiful 30-meter-high Norman Tower, the last of the four once existing, which is auxiliary to the Norman Castle.
